Hitched in the Howqua - getting married at Howqua Lodge

By far and away, one of my absolute favourite venues to work at is the stunning and picturesque Howqua Lodge. If you are after wonderous views of the beautiful Howqua Valley; as far as the eye can see. Or perhaps your vibe is rustic charm; with a reception barn and converted stable accommodation for up to 18 guests....then this is definitely the spot for you.

Only 20 minutes drive from Mansfield, yet somehow, a smidgy bit off the beaten track. Get away from all the hustle and bustle of the chaotic, modern, technology-obsessed world for a nature-soaked weekend wedding. Kangaroos and the odd echindna will be your welcome party on the bushland road in. You will often find this silly Cellie out of her car to take a photo of the uninvited "prickly" guest enroute to my next wedding at Howqua Lodge!

Then, your human hosts; the most generous and kind-hearted people you will ever meet - Sophie and Simon will greet you with just the perfect balance of helping hands when needed and knowing when to step back and let you have your privacy.

Your ceremony can be held in one of two gorgeous locations - the generous, landscaped and flat (aka practical) arena overlooking the incredible Howqua Valley. Or, for that more intimate mood of a micro wedding there's the rawly, organic forest hideaway - a naturally carved out Australian bush hollow - perfect for a group of 20 intrepid guests willing to wander down a one kilometer track.

This magical venue is really your blank canvas, a reception barn with the necessary mod-cons (a basic kitchen, power, water) for you to put your own personal stamp on it. Be it a bit of retro vintage or rustic boho - DIY is the name of the game here. So much fun.

I have probably done at least 40 weddings at this sweet venue and I hope to do so many more. It's so relaxed and full of heart.
